2024 Kia Telluride: Refined Ruggedness Meets Advanced Technology

2024 Kia Telluride: Refined Ruggedness Meets Advanced Technology

Minor design tweaks, advanced features, and robust performance make the latest Telluride a compelling choice

The 2024 Kia Telluride has undergone a series of updates, cementing its status as a compelling option for SUV enthusiasts. Tailored specifically for the Canadian market, the vehicle continues its tradition of turning heads, thanks to a subtle exterior facelift that further enhances its bold and sophisticated appeal.

To begin with, this year’s model brings forward amber daytime running lights across its lineup. A noteworthy change for the Telluride X-Line and X-Pro models is the replacement of dark metallic exterior trim with black gloss. This change is evident on parts like the bumpers, lower door garnish, grille surround, and headlight bezels.

Building on the exterior tweaks from 2023, the Telluride boasts a:

- Revised vertical headlamp design with an available LED option

- New front fascia and grille

- Updated taillamps

- Fresh rear fascia and trim

- Revamped wheel designs for every trim level

Moving inside, the 2024 model encapsulates an aura of upscale exploration with its spacious three-row seating, accommodating either seven or eight passengers. The vehicle stands out with its class-leading second-row legroom. Interior refinements include:

- A 12.3-inch display screen with an available gauge cluster and a standard center display with navigation

- A redesigned dashboard featuring revised trim panels and HVAC vents

- Updated steering wheel

- Fresh interior color packages

Delving deeper into the range, the Telluride X-Line exudes exclusivity with a distinct radiator grille design, raised roof rails, body-color door handles, special 20-inch wheels, and "X-Line" badges. Inside, "X-Line" embossing graces the front seat upper backrest, with exclusive color packages boosting its appeal. It's more than just looks, though; increased ground clearance, improved approach and departure angles, a modified Traction Control System (TCS), and an adjusted tow mode are all part of the package.

The Telluride X-Pro builds on the X-Line foundation, with unique 18-inch black wheels, exclusive all-terrain tires, and increased towing capacity.

Under the hood, the Telluride retains its potent Atkinson Cycle LAMBDA II 3.8L V6 GDI engine, coupled with an 8-speed automatic transmission, producing 291 horsepower and 262 lb.-ft of torque. A choice of four drive modes ensures optimal performance under varying conditions.

Rounding off the updates is a suite of technological enhancements. The new Telluride offers an enlarged 12.3-inch navigation screen, optional Full Display Mirror, and an available Smart Power Liftgate. Additionally, the Kia Connect services have been expanded, with features like an in-vehicle Wi-Fi Hotspot, Digital Key functionality, Over-The-Air updates, and a range of app and smartwatch compatibilities.

The 2024 Kia Telluride not only retains the charm of its predecessors but builds upon them, offering a blend of ruggedness, elegance, and modern-day technology.
