2021 Kia Seltos vs 2021 Toyota RAV4: A lot of space, a lot of savings

2021 Kia Seltos vs 2021 Toyota RAV4: A lot of space, a lot of savings

Are you looking for a spacious sport utility vehicle to meet the needs of your growing family or your active lifestyle? If so, you have a lot of options at your disposal. Here, we take a look at two SUVs that may not seem like direct competitors when you first compare them, but the more you dive into the comparison you realize they are more alike than previously thought.

The 2021 Kia Seltos is a lot more affordable than the 2021 Toyota RAV4, that’s for sure. What’s interesting is that the price difference doesn’t amount to much compromise in the space department. Moreover, the RAV4 may have more power than the Seltos on paper, but on the road the Seltos is more dynamic and because it is smaller, it feels just as quick. More importantly, the 2021 Kia Seltos is more fuel-efficient than the 2021 Toyota RAV4. But that’s just the beginning.

First, let’s look at the price difference between the 2021 Kia Seltos and the 2021 Toyota RAV4.

$28,590

$466,94

Finance 60 months

$427,32

$631,45

As you can see, it is significant. If you are leasing, the Seltos costs roughly $150 less than the RAV4 every month. If you are financing, the Seltos over $200 less. After 5 years, that’s over $10,000 less that you are paying for the Seltos. Imagine what you could do with that money.

Sure, the Seltos is more affordable, but it is smaller than the RAV4, right? Well, not exactly. There’s a bit less cargo space in the Seltos, true, but the total difference is less than 200 litres which isn’t that significant. More importantly, when you step inside, there’s actually MORE leg room up front and in the back in the more affordable 2021 Kia Seltos.

That means that anyone inside will be more comfortable in the 2021 Kia Seltos, and the only real difference is cargo space where maybe you can carry one more carry-on in the RAV4, but that’s it.

The real question is whether 200 litres of extra cargo space is worth 200$ a month over five years?
